Eco Church is A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth, and St Martin’s is part of it!
On behalf of the PCC a small working group looks at the various ways the church expresses our care for God’s world in our worship and teaching; in how we look after our buildings and land; in how we engage with our local community and in global campaigns, and in the personal lifestyles of our congregation.
We have gained the Bronze Eco Church Award and are now working towards our Silver award.
The scheme is supported by A Rocha, Christian Aid, Tear Fund, The Church of England as well as the Methodist Church.
What can you do?
We will be making suggestions on how to help throughout the year but here are some suggestions to start with.
